Here’s Emily so sweaty she’s basically a puddle in human form.
NY Magazine had this great article about why we sweat and how to be a little less “glowy” this summer. With the humidity kicking it into high gear this week, we know you’ll need it.
- You start sweating before you get hot because your body is trying to keep you cool in advance of being overheated.
- If you were born in a sweltering Missouri summer, you’re more likely to be a sweaty adult because your sweat glands grew big early.
- But – sweat helps you heal!
- To keep the sweating to a minimum, chill out on the AC. Keep your indoor temperature closer to the outdoor temperature.
- An ice pack to the neck feels great, but drinking ice water will chill out your sweating faster.
